Long Meadow hunting and recreational ranch is a dream come true for about anyone who loves the great outdoors. It is located 12 miles by paved roads, southeast of Wilburton, OK and is just 1 mile north of the 2860 Acre Yourman Wildlife read more
Management Area (Please see Yourman WMA on the internet).
According to the owners and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, this is an excellent hunting area that has good numbers of whitetailed deer, Eastern Wild Turkey, black bear, fox and gray squirrels. Many other species of wildlife call this place home too, such as a few bobwhite quail, cottentail and swamp rabbits, ducks, geese and other water fowl and numerous other furry little critters. Latimer County is one of the 4 counties in Oklahoma that has a black bear hunting season!
Long Meadow Ranch is a very nice rolling property with a really neat little 30 Acre or so "long meadow" nestled in the forest. About any evening, the owners report that you will see deer coming onto the grassy meadow for a leisurely evening bout of grazing, frolicking and playing in the open spaces.
Lawless Creek, a little wet weather creek, goes through the top half of the property. The terrain slopes downward to the creek then gently rises on to the north. The meadow has a sligh hill but is pretty flat and level then the terrain slopes gently downward as you travel to the south property line.
As you can see Long Meadow Ranch is very navigable either by Shank’s mare (walking) or on an atv/4 wheeler. The Elevation changes from a height of 960 feet on the north and east sides to a low of 780 feet on the very westerly end, only about 180 feet of elevation change – easy on my old knees!
A friend mentioned that the long meadow would make the perfect landing strip for the bush pilot in the family.
There is a good array of ATV trails that access all parts of the property. Small clearings avail themselves for planting food plots and installing game feeders, hunting blinds and stands.
The 4 ponds provide abundant water for game and some nice fishing opportunity for that angler in the family. Ducks and geese frequent the ponds too on their way to and from! Wow, another hunting opportunity!
The 14x30 Cabin is a Davis Manufactured Building that is brand spankin' new! It is very well insulated and rodent proof, ready for someone to put their finishing touches on it to make it a fabulous little off grid hunting cabin. It already has a loft in one end for storage or extra sleeping areas.
Electric is just a short distance from the cabin, about 200 yards, so it wouldn't be impossible to bring it on over to the cabin if desired. One would have to work that out with the neighbors and the electric company.
As mentioned, Long Meadow can be divided . The west 210 Acres with little cabin can be purchased for $271,950. the 160 Acres can be purchased for $208,000.
Long Meadow Hunting Estate is definitely one of the nicest hunting and recreational properties that we've had in quite awhile and it has legal access!!
