This awesome property is in the majestic Winding Stair Mountains, one of the most scenic areas of Oklahoma. It is only 1/4 mile from the Ouachita National Forest's west boundary. It is on the west end of Holson Valley and about 1/2 mile west off of US Hwy 271. Just 2 1/2 miles north of the famous Talimena Drive on Hwy 1 Scenic Highway that President John F. Kennedy came all the way to Oklahoma to dedicate. This highway is declared to be one of the most scenic highways in Oklahoma and the Nation. Just 10 miles north of Talihina, OK and 4.5 miles north of the famous Talimena State Park.
There are thousands of miles of forest roads and trails in the area, campgrounds, lakes, etc. Just a recreational paradise. Many folks love 4-wheeling in their 4x4s and ATVs/UTVs on designated trails in the National Forest or "Jeeping" on the forest roads and county roads. Talihina, Oklahoma, the Gateway to the Ouachita National Forest is only 10 miles southwest on US Hwy 271. Wister Lake is approximately 12 miles northeast.
The property is mostly hardwoods (oak, hickory, etc) but it does have enough pines to really be pretty. A nice little creek passes 1/2 mile through the property that supplies pools of water for game. This is in LeFlore County, one of the 4 counties in Oklahoma that has a black bear hunting season. Deer, turkey, bear and wild hogs are only a few of the many species that live on or will frequent this majestic place. The elevation can go from approximately 1030' down to 860' and most of it is gradual enough that there are no really steep places that are hard to navigate. Like I mentioned earlier, this is a very scenic area and the views from this place will not disappoint you. There is no electric line near so one would have to be off grid.
The price is very reasonable at $1095 per acre, that's $153,300 for the entire 140 Acres! This one will appraise!
